Wing Chun Tunbridge Wells
The group classes in Practical Wing Chun are suitable for people of all ages, gender, and physical condition. Our lessons are based on technical skills that anyone can learn with a little perseverance. The purpose of Wing Chun is not to answer force with force, but to rely on biomechanics and use an attacker's strength against them. This system is not a competitive martial art and there is no winning or losing. Wing Chun was originally created for women, and it includes every self-defence scenario. The training is safe, and we do not hit or harm one another.
The lessons are usually divided into two activities:
Practicing forms, a sequence of movements which include and remind us of self-defence techniques, some of which may have various applications.
Embedding automatic responses to an attack by practicing technical skills (usually with a variety of partners).
The training atmosphere is relaxed, and it feels good to work mind and body together. The first few lessons are free, and you are very welcome to join us.
